The three drow warriors scattered to the shadows of the party's torches. Smiling, the invisible V'yaris looked around the cavern for the priestess as he marked Gladik's back tense; a sign that the dwarf was about to charge. Then there was a bellowing roar from the far end of the cavern. A figure immerged from the darkness and into the shadows. A goblin, the party thought but then checked themselves. No goblin they had ever seen stood nine feet tall. From the creature's back huge bat-wings rose like a cobra revealing its hood. The creature took another step forward and spun its giant double bladed axe in one hand as heat from its flesh began to distort the cavern beyond.
"By the gods, what is that?" Rend hissed, readying his longsword.
"Demon-child," V'yaris whispered from what he hoped was the safety of his invisibility spell, "a balor's son. We migh want..." but the elf's words were to late. Gladik was charging the goblin-demon.
New monsters, and variants of old, are presented here. Some have been tested in game, while other's have yet to make an actual appearance.
